Top 10 Brow Lamination Aftercare Tips
Brow lamination is one of my most popular treatments at the moment. My brow lami involves lifting and setting the brow hairs to create a fuller and more defined look.
Good aftercare is essential to ensure the best results and to maintain the effects of the treatment. Here are my TOP 10 essential aftercare tips for brow lamination:
-
Avoid getting the brows wet for the first 24 hours after the treatment, it's crucial to keep your eyebrows dry. This means avoiding water, steam, saunas, and excessive sweating from exercise. Water exposure can weaken the bonds that were formed during the lamination process, affecting the results.
-
No touching or rubbing: Refrain from touching or rubbing your eyebrows, as this can disrupt the laminated shape and cause the hairs to go back to their original position.
-
Skip oil-based products: Avoid using oil-based makeup removers or cleansers around the eyebrow area. Oil can break down the lamination solution and reduce its effectiveness. Use a gentle, water-based cleanser when removing makeup.
-
Stay away from heat: Avoid exposing your brows to direct heat, such as hairdryers or heated styling tools, as it can affect the shape of the laminated brows.
-
Use a spoolie to groom: After the initial 24 hour waiting period, you can gently groom your brows with a spoolie. Brush them into the desired shape and direction. I will give you a spoolie to go away with after your treatment so don't worry about that!
-
Hair Mask: To keep your brows healthy and nourished, you need to apply hair mask to the brows daily. Any brand - doesn't matter how cheap or expensive. Apply generously to help condition the brows and keep them looking their best.
-
Avoid excessive sweating: For the first 24 hours after the treatment, try to avoid activities that may cause excessive sweating, as sweat can weaken the lamination effect.
-
Be cautious with makeup: If you use brow makeup, be gentle when applying and removing it to avoid disturbing the laminated shape. Opt for non-waterproof makeup products, as waterproof ones can be harder to remove and may require more rubbing.
-
Attend your maintenance appointment: Brow lamination lasts for 8 weeks. If you want to maintain your look, book your maintenance appointment (Brow Tint & Wax) at the 4 week mark
-
Be patient with regrowth: As your brow hairs grow, they may lose their laminated effect. Be patient and wait until your next appointment to get them professionally groomed and laminated again.
Remember, each person's skin and hair type can react differently to brow lamination, so it's essential to follow the specific aftercare instructions provided by your brow tech!
